NAC: The Best Supplement for Your Well-Being

There’s no denying that 2020 has been the WORST. Mostly because of COVID and everyone deciding to be a racist and suddenly extremely political.

Between all of the articles, recommendations, mask lovers and haters, bleach, and hand sanitizer, not ONE person ANYWHERE has shared ANYTHING about the magic of NAC, also known as

N-Acetyl Cysteine

Cysteine is a semi-essential amino acid.

It’s considered semi-essential because your body can produce it from other amino acids, namely methionine and serine. It becomes essential only when the dietary intake of methionine and serine is low.

Cysteine is found in most high-protein foods, such as chicken, turkey, yogurt, cheese, eggs, sunflower seeds and legumes.

N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is a supplement form of cysteine.

Consuming adequate cysteine and NAC is important for a variety of health reasons — including replenishing the most powerful antioxidant in your body, glutathione (the master antioxidant of life).

    1. It protects your cells from environmental pollutants and toxins, including pesticides, heavy metals like lead, and gasoline and diesel fumes.
    2. Studies have shown restored lung function in soldiers exposed to mustard gas, and is a standard at hospitals for treating poisons that cause damage through extreme oxidative stress.
    3. Several large studies have found that NAC relieves symptoms of depression and anxiety, with none of the side effects you get from antidepressants. NAC also improved mood in depressed people who took it on top of their normal medication — again, with no side effects or drug interactions
    4. Reduces the inflammation and mucus in people with lung disease, such as chronic bronchitis or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. It can break down mucus and replenish glutathione in the lungs, which reduces airway damage and breathing difficulties

This is just the list of things it does in relation to our overdramatized pandemic. It has proven to help lung issues, inflammation, free radicals and protect the cells and yet no one has mentioned it? Thats probably because if you ask 90% of medical professionals, they don’t know what it is. (There’s no money to be made if we aren’t using prescriptions)

Most studies use a dose of between 1200-2400 mg NAC, taken in 600 mg doses throughout the day. You’ll absorb NAC best if you take it on an empty stomach, at least an hour away from eating. I personally take 2400mg a day + 500mg Glutathione. I also never get sick and I heal from injuries & surgeries like an X-Woman

Natural supplements that rejuvenate us at a cellular level are always a good idea, pandemic or otherwise. Please check out the other great benefits of NAC;  if youth, less anxiety and lung health weren’t enough 😂

I agree 100%and although NAC is an important part of my daily supplements, it was especially helpful when I got Covid. I quickly increased the dosage and eliminated the mucus issue quickly, which as we all know is the key with this virus. Great article!
